A few of my favourite things.... anything from Silverspoon!

I think it was a cold rainy day in 2008, when I popped into Cobble Walk Centre in Durbanville to get some essentials at the checkers or woolies, when I was drawn to an attractive, stylish cafe, which really caught me by surprise. I completely forgot why I'd actually stopped at the centre, but I ended up just wanting to sit down in this pretty place with the smiley people. I remember the happy feeling created by the soft jazzy music, the wonderful smells of edibles and then immediately peering into the glass cabinet of the most beautiful individual cakes and pastries. The pastries... I sat down, ordered coffee and a chocolate croissant. Completely sold!
I think I became addicted to anything served at Silverspoon Cafe et Patisserie and especially because everything served was always with such gentleness and kindness. One can't help but enjoy such treatment. Best breakfast, best lunch, unfortunately no supper option, but I believe that this too would be the place with THE best supper menu and service in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. I would like to list all my favourite meals and cakes I've indulged in while being treated like some deserving royalty. Here it goes, in no order of preference or chronological experience, but the random imagery of the creations -- chocolate croissants, croissants, chocolate cake, -- this is proofing to be harder than I thought. Its impossible to summarize awesomeness in a sentence. I'd recommend you stop by this wonderful place yourself.
